Membership with AICB provides individuals with recognition, support and opportunities for personal and professional growth. AICB members will have access to a range of exclusive benefits such as:

AICB membership comes through study of a qualification as per the AICB Membership and Qualification Framework (Figure 1).

Members who have successfully completed the qualification and upon upgrade of membership may use the membership designation after their name as shown in Table 1.

Individuals may apply for membership at any time during the year. However, if their aim is to enrol for a particular examination-based qualification, they should take into consideration the submission deadlines of the qualification and the examination schedules provided on the AICB website.
Applications for membership are made online via the Member Portal and submitted together with the required supporting documents.
Every individual, upon applying for membership, shall provide an undertaking that he / she will, if admitted, be bound by the Constitution, Bye-Laws and regulations of the Institute.
Fellow Chartered Banker is the highest status conferred by the Institute and a mark of senior professional status in the banking industry.
Criteria
A Chartered Banker may apply to become a Fellow provided that he / she fulfils the following criteria:
- Has attained Chartered Banker status for a minimum of 5 years
- Has substantial and significant experience in banking related business for at least 15 years with significant exposure in one (1) of the key areas of banking*
- Has at least 5 years of experience in a senior strategic leadership role in the banking industry
- Complies to Fit and Proper criteria on a continuing basis
- Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional development; and
- Has made significant contributions to the work of the Institute and / or the banking profession.
*Encompassing, but not limited to, retail, commercial / corporate, wholesale, wealth, financial banking, payments, operations, credit, risk, markets & treasury, capital planning & ALCO, compliance and Islamic banking.
How Do I Apply?

documentation:
- Latest curriculum vitae
- A written statement on why you wish to apply for the Fellowship of Chartered Banker
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) — please submit proof of your learning activities for the past 12 months. Supporting documents to include details such as date of training, duration, training / activity title and proof of attendance. - Any other documents requested by the Institute from time to time for the purpose of considering the application.
- Members who are recommended for Fellowship will be considered for approval by the Institute’s Council and may expect to receive the outcome of the application via email in Quarter 1, 2025.
Members of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) are required to pay an annual subscription fee appropriate to their membership status.
Information on AICB’s subscription rates and fee structure are stated below:
